Got a Pallet Board?
Do you ever see businesses advertising free pallets? Well next time, get one! There are so many fun things you can create with a pallet board. Today I want to talk about my seriously stylish headboards I made for my kiddos!
I refreshed both of their rooms as, I hate to say this…. but they are growing up and needed a more “grown up” space to hang in. Of course, being a crafty person, I wanted to make something. I was in our warehouse one day and it hit me… let’s use a pallet board! We have ample amounts of them at all times from all our flooring shipments. So I gathered two up and cut them down to the size of a twin bed. I ran to my nearest Hobby Lobby or JoAnn (we have both here in Austin, so you gotta spread the love) and I bought material and foam to bring my creation to life!
For the ever stylish, sassy Lu, I chose a furry pink fabric and for my almost teenager Nolan I went with a masculine leather look.
Once I had my pallets cut to size I spray glued on the foam to the face of the pallet board. I then carefully place the foam/pallet board face down on the fabric. It was just like a present! I folded in the corners and went to town with my stapler, stapling on the back side of the pallet, all while making sure that fabric was taut. Once it was to my liking and the fabric was smooth I went up and hung that bad boy right on the wall at the head of my kids’ beds! It was that easy to create! Win all around! The kids loved them, I was recycling and I didn’t spend a fortune!
